The Florida State Boxing Commission, which oversees MMA under the state’s Department of Business and Professional Regulation, disclosed salary information for UFC on FX 3: Johnson vs McCall. Oddly enough, Mike Pyle topped the list over main event winner Demetrious Johnson. Not sure how Johnson’s people let that happen but given his Xbox 360 sponsorship, I’m sure he still had a good night. The total payroll for the event was $423,500. Here is the breakdown:

Not a highly anticipated fight card but some great finishes nonetheless, minus the prelims which were weak. The main card fights were very good though except for the main event which was more of the same from Johnson and McCall.

Related to the main event, Dana explained in the post-fight press conference that the fight couldn’t have been a 5-rounder because it wouldn’t have been able to go to a 6th if there was a draw. The tournament needed to roll on and needed a winner to face Joseph Benavidez in the final. Making it a 5-rounder probably wouldn’t have helped though.
