Weigh-ins for UFC 148: Silva vs Sonnen II took place Friday evening at a packed out Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas. All 22 fighters successfully made weight.

There were some serious fireworks at the weigh-in between Silva and Sonnen but Sonnen wasn’t the one who set them off. After Anderson weighed in, they faced off. Chael stood there posing and just stared straight ahead. Anderson was rocking back and forth and then threw his shoulder into Chael’s jaw which landed and jerked Sonnen’s head back. Everyone immediately stepped in before things got out of hand. Dirty move on Silva’s part that could have got him disqualified, but of course we know that’s not going to happen. Although, after the weigh-in’s Sonnen did say that Silva did that because he wanted to be disqualified.

The two were then interviewed by Joe Rogan. Sonnen was up first and was moving his jaw around as it just got smashed by Silva’s shoulder. Chael:

“Champion versus Icon, Myth versus Legend, Anderson Silva versus Chael Sonnen, The Fake Guy versus The Bad Guy, and ONLY on pay-per-view”

When Anderson was asked for his thoughts, he said, in English:

“I don’t have nothing, I no respect Chael, Chael no respect nothing, Chael no respect UFC, Chael no respect my country. Tomorrow I go to fight.”
