Featherweights Bart Palaszewski (36-15) and Diego Nunes (17-3) have been tentatively matched up and added as the first fight on the UFC on FX 5 Indianapolis, Indiana card happening September 7th.

Palaszewski looks to rebound from his loss to Hatsu Hioki at UFC 144 in Japan this past February. He didn’t look like he was in true Bartimus form though. Perhaps the travel or environment was the cause? Whatever it was, I don’t think we’ll see the same fighter, and I would expect him to really bring it given he’s fighting in the Midwest.

Nunes is also looking to rebound from his last fight loss to Dennis Siver at UFC on FUEL TV 2 in Sweden. He’s had a somewhat rocky UFC road winning only 2 of 4 but he’s been fighting fairly tough opponents. Also, his last 9 fights have ended in a decision.

Prediction: Very even matchup but I give the slight edge to Bartimus. I think we’ll see ‘WEC Bartimus’ putting serious pressure on Nunes with great striking and good takedown defense. Tenth decision in a row for Nunes with Bartimus getting it unanimously.
