Weigh-Ins for UFC 147: Franklin vs. Silva II took place today at Estadio Jornalista Felipe Drumond in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, the same venue that hosts Saturday’s event. All fighters made weight with the exception ofJohn “Macapa” Teixeira, who came in at 150 pounds. Officials would not allow him to cut any additional weight due to health concerns. He was fined 25 percent of his purse ($2,000), which goes to Hugo “Wolverine” Viana.

Some Notes: There were heated exchanges on two occasions. After shaking hands, Anistavio “Gasparzinho” Medeiros immediately tried to get up in Rodrigo Damm’s grill during their staredown. Damm stiff-armed him to keep him at bay which totally pissed off Medeiros. Officials had to separated the two. The middleweight finalists also went at it. Sergio “Serginho” Moraes moved very close into Cezar “Mutante” Ferreira and then Mutante stiff-armed Serginho to the neck which Serginho took offense to so he swiped his hand away. The two had to be separated.
