UFC 158: St-Pierre vs Diaz
Overview
It’s the battle of TUF finale losers as “Freakshow” takes on the “Martian”. Yes, they were losers in their finale matches, but these two guys are anything but, and were arguably the most interesting fighters on their respective shows with perhaps the most potential to succeed in the UFC.

UFC on FOX 6: Johnson vs Dodson – Bonuses and Results
Posted on January 27, 2013 - (0) comments

Anthony Pettis gets 'Knockout of the Night'
From top to bottom, an amazing night of fights. There were six spectacular finishes and the decision fights were also thrillers. Demetrious Johnson showcased his all-around mma skills and unparalleled cardio as he defended his title even after getting knocked down and rocked a few times.
This might have been Rampage Jackson’s last fight in the Octagon, and boy did he deliver a good one. Sure he lost, but Glover is a beast and Rampage took it all and fought back every step of the way. Dana tweeted this post-fight, “Rampage just walked out and screamed ‘You’re gonna miss me!’”. Maybe a little, yeah, but he will quickly be forgotten with that stupid attitude.

Quinton "Rampage" Jackson
Weigh-ins for ‘UFC on FOX 6: Johnson vs Dodson’ took place today at the Chicago Theater in Chicago, Illinois, USA. All 22 fighters made weight.
A very high-energy weigh-in with just a bit of friction here and there. John Dodson was his usual bubbly self with a bag of Pop Rocks accompanying him throughout his time on stage. Demetrious Johnson, on the other hand, was all business.

Gunnar Nelson vs. Jorge Santiago
Jorge Santiago (25-10) returns to the UFC after a 1+ year absence to replace injured Justin Edwards (8-2) against Gunnar Nelson (10-0-1) at ‘UFC on FUEL TV 7: Barao vs McDonald’ which takes place February 16, 2013 in London, England.
Iceland’s Gunnar Nelson is coming off perhaps the biggest fight of his career his last time out. Gunnar made his UFC debut in front of the Nottingham crowd at UFC on FUEL TV 5 and submitted DaMarques Johnson by rear-naked choke in the first round. Most impressive for me though was his crisp and clean striking which helped set up his first class ground game.

UFC 158 add: Mitch Gagnon vs. Issei Tamura

Mitch Gagnon vs. Issei Tamura
[UPDATE: Mitch Gagnon injured and replaced by T.J. Dillashaw]
Bantamweights Mitch Gagnon (9-2) and Issei Tamura (7-3) have been matched up and added to the ‘UFC 158: St-Pierre vs Diaz’ card which takes place March 16, 2013 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
Canadian Mitch Gagnon will be fighting in his home country for the third straight time. He debuted at UFC 149 with a tough loss to Miesha Tate’s boyfriend (apologies for the mention, I’m just jealous), Bryan Caraway, and then rebounded in big way with a first round rear-naked submission win over Walel Watson at UFC 152. Gagnon is a submission specialist with 10 of his 11 pro fights ending one way or the other in a submission.

UFC 158 add: Antonio Carvalho vs. Darren Elkins
Posted on January 22, 2013 - (0) comments

Antonio Carvalho vs. Darren Elkins
Featherweights Antonio Carvalho (15-5) and Darren Elkins (15-2) have been matched up and added to the ‘UFC 158: St-Pierre vs Diaz’ card which takes place March 16, 2013 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
Canada’s own Antonio “Pato” Carvalho will once again fight in front of his home country fans. His last time out was at UFC 154 in Montreal where he won a very close split decision over Brazil’s Rodrigo Damm. The win was his second in a row following a UFC debut loss at UFC 142. At 33, Carvalho seems to be getting stronger and better with each match, which also seems to be true for his opponent Elkins.

Michael Kuiper vs. Josh Janousek pulled from this Saturday’s UFC on FOX 6 event
Posted on January 22, 2013 - (0) comments

Michael Kuiper
Josh Janousek (8-1) has pulled out of his fight with Michael Kuiper (12-1) at this coming Saturday’s ‘UFC on FOX 6: Johnson vs Dodson’ event with an injury. With the event just five days away, a replacement will not be sought.
Janousek was the fourth fighter to pull out against Kuiper over the past few months. Terrible luck for the Dutch fighter but I’m sure he’ll be re-booked for an upcoming event. We shall see.
