Latino Review reported today that UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre (GSP) has been cast as the villain, Batroc the Leaper, in Marvel’s 2014 release of “Captain America: The Winter Soldier”. The movie is a sequel to the 2011 hit “Captain America: The First Avenger,” which grossed $369 million worldwide and will include a host of big name stars including Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, and Samuel L. Jackson.

Overview
Yet another injury has forced Manny Gamburyan off of a UFC event card unfortunately. Stepping in to replace Manny against Hacran Dias at UFC on FX 8 in May is Nik “The Carny” Lentz.

Hacran Dias will be looking for his second win in the UFC and tenth win in a row. The Nova Uniao fighter and training partner of Jose Aldo won his UFC debut last time out at UFC 147 against Yuri Alcantara by unanimous decision. He was supposed to face Chad Mendes this past December at UFC on FX 6 but had to withdraw due to injury.

Overview
An injury to Francisco Rivera has forced him to withdraw from his match with Hugo Viana at UFC on FOX 7, April 20. Replacing him is T.J. Dillashaw who just fought last weekend at UFC 158 against Issei Tamura. T.J. made quick work of Tamura, knocking him out just 26 seconds into round 2. The win made it three in a row for T.J. since losing his TUF 14 Finale match to John Dodson in 2011. He now faces one of TUF Brazil’s finest in Viana in what should be a very exciting, high-paced and hard-striking match.

Overview
Less than a month from the event, Dan Hardy has been forced to withdraw from his match with Matt Brown at UFC on FOX 7, April 20, due to an injury. Replacing him is Jordan Mein who just fought last weekend at UFC 158 against Dan Miller. It was Mein’s UFC debut coming over from Strikeforce and he knocked out Miller in the first round of their fight. So, I guess he’s fresh and ready to go for Brown.

Overview
Jeremy Larsen first appeared with the UFC as a cast member on TUF 15 Live. He made it into the TUF house but then lost to eventual winner Michael Chiesa by unanimous decision in the round before the quarterfinals. He fought tough and impressed the UFC folks enough to match him up with Joe Proctor at the TUF 15 Live Finale. Unfortunately, Proctor got the better of him and recorded a first round knockout. That fight was June 2012 so it will be just under a year since Larsen last stepped in the Octagon.

Chris Cariaso looks to rebound from his first loss in the UFC flyweight division. He was submitted by John Moraga in the third round of their fight at UFC 155, a submission that earned Moraga “Submission of the Night”. Prior to the Moraga loss, Cariaso primarly fought as a bantamweight and then dropped down to flyweight when the UFC created the division. He won his flyweight debut by unanimous decision against Josh Ferguson prior to his loss to Moraga.

Yuri Alcantara is coming off a bizarre “No Contest” against Pedro Nobre at UFC on FX 7. It looked like a first round knockout for Yuri, but referee Dan Miragliotta deemed the punches he was throwing to be illegal blows to the back of the head. After the Doctor’s review of Nobre, the bout was called off and ruled a “No Contest”. Prior to the Nobre fight, Yuri had won 13 of 14 with ten of those wins coming by way of submission or knockout.
