Greetings and Salutations!
Over the past two years (2012 and 2013), we offered a website dedicated to providing UFC-related information and news in a unique and entertaining way. We are passionate about MMA and wanted to contribute and grow with a sport that has become one of the most popular sports on the planet.
We bought the PPVs, attended the events, bought the gear, pretty much everything. We also worked hard every day promoting whatever the UFC was offering.
One of the features of the website which became our most popular were the posters we did for fight announcements. We basically wanted to positively hype up every fight announcement with a cool accompanying poster.
Fans and fighters alike showed their appreciation for the posters by sharing them across their social networks, which further added to the overall hype and excitement about a given match-up and event.
We then received an email from the UFC. It wasn't exactly what we were hoping for though. It wasn't a "Hey folks, great job. Thanks for really putting your heart into it and promoting our stuff in such a positive way". No, it was from their lawyers and it basically said to stop doing the posters or else.
We then discussed the site with them and begged and pleaded that we were doing all of this because we're big fans and we love the sport. They agreed to let us continue doing posters and life was good again. We celebrated the 20th anniversary of the UFC and experienced our highest website traffic numbers ever.
But then, they changed their minds and insisted we remove the posters. Ugh!
So, we took down the posters and have also stopped providing coverage altogether. We could have kept the site going without posters but the posters were a big part of it all and quite frankly we just wouldn't have been able to provide the same coverage with the passion we once had, given the circumstances.
Before we move on though, we just wanted to explain the situation and thank all of you for the support over the years. It was a great experience and we enjoyed every minute of it.
